Carpet Cleaning FAQs NY/NJ/CT

Carpet Cleaning for Homes, Offices-Title

1. Will the cleaning shrink my carpet?
The chance of shrinkage is minimal, unless there are open seams. Our operators are trained to use the utmost care when cleaning your carpet.

2. Can I walk on my carpet after it has been cleaned?
We recommend that you keep traffic off the carpet for at least 2 hours. If you must walk on the carpet, wear rubber soled shoes or socks. Walking on freshly cleaned carpet with bare feet may leave oil spots.

3. How long will it take my carpet to dry?
Normal drying time is from 6 to 24 hours. It depends on humidity, air movement, and the temperature in the room. Do not be alarmed if it takes longer especially when Teflon® or Scotchgard™ is applied.

4. How long will it take my furniture to dry?
Usually anywhere from 6 to 8 hours. It is recommended to let it dry overnight before using.

5. Will all the spots come out?
We will treat all of the spotted areas with the most professional methods known. However, we cannot guarantee their removal. Many agents affect carpet dyes and spots set in if not blotted up immediately.

6. How long will the Teflon® or Scotchgard™ last?
Teflon® or Scotchgard™ is an important protection for keeping carpets clean. It will wear off, as the carpet, wears and will eventually need to be reapplied. Areas of your carpet that have heavy traffic may need an application every time your carpets are cleaned. Other areas may need it every other time.

7. How often should I have my carpet or furniture cleaned?
Major carpet manufacturers recommend every 6 to 8 months depending on the amount of traffic in the house. Rooms that you use most often, such as family rooms and dining rooms probably should be cleaned every 6 months. Rooms used less frequently may be cleaned every 12 to 18 months. You are the best judge. When you start seeing soil, you should have it cleaned. Steam cleaning is one of the most effective carpet cleaning methods. We use equipment that applies hot water and detergents into your carpeting at high pressure. After the solution is extracted, your carpets will look and smell like new, and most importantly, be free of most dirt and germs. See our carpet cleaning page for different steam cleaning methods used, depending on your carpet cleaning needs.
